Quest Nutrition Background

As a company founded in 2010, Quest Nutrition has been going very strong, considering it’s been around for only 10 years. Their motto has kept them striving in the decade they’ve been around, revolutionize food and make clean eating fun.

Their goal is to make food taste delicious without having the user worrying about repercussions or any compromises. People eat food for enjoyment, not for sustenance. This is why Quest has made it their goal to make foods that don’t compromise on taste or nutrition.

Their number one product is by far their Quest Protein Bars, which is the product I’ll be reviewing for you today. It was what helped established their company as a trusted brand back when it was founded in 2010.

Buzz started circulating around with athletes and bodybuilders about Quest protein bars. These groups of people focus intensely on their dietary needs. When they found something that suited both their taste preferences and nutritional needs, they were hooked.

Fast-forward 2020, not much has changed with the protein bars. Or has it? Has Quest Nutrition fallen off from their pedestal after all these years, or are they striving forward with their classic protein bar? Only one way to find out!

Quest Bar Pros

Let’s get started with the pros of this marvelous protein bar, let’s plow through them since there’s a lot of good to talk about. Even if I did try this bar for the first time 3 years ago, I still get excited when opening a new one after a workout.

Exquisite Taste

I can never get enough of how good their protein bars taste. The two flavors I’ve tried out are Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookies and CreamTo be honest, they both tasted relatively the same, but the chocolate chip is what I rolled, and continue to roll with today.

The texture is chunky, hard, but not too hard to where it’s impossible to bite through. It has a good mixture of thick and chewy, where it almost starts to taste like a chocolate bar. Most of the bars have the same texture, but the taste is where it’s at.

Scattered all through the bar, you’ll find plenty of chocolate chips. It’s hard to think that something is “healthy” or “nutritious” when it has chocolate chips. But these protein bars have been crafted and perfected with the highest quality ingredients.

Low-Carb Friendly

A major reason why I began using this protein bar was because of the diet I was going to begin; Keto. Every bar has around 5-6 net carbs, which is perfect for a diet primed around low-carb like Keto or the paleo diet.

The nutrition label says that each bar has around 20 carbohydrates, but more than half of those carbs are fiber, an indigestible carb. Then, counting the leftover sugar and Erythritol, that accumulated to about 5-6 net carbs.

Even today, now that I’m off the Ketogenic diet, I still utilize this protein bar for its great taste. The old saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. There’s no reason to switch to another protein bar if I’ve got my favorite right here.

Solid Protein

There are 21 grams of protein in each bar, which is about the same amount in a scoop of protein powder. The convenience of taking a protein bar is far greater than the convenience of protein powder.

Not to say protein powders aren’t convenient, they sure do great in a flash. But with an even quicker flash, the protein bar is the choice you want. Grab it, tear the wrapping, and let your taste buds enjoy.

Quest Bar Cons

There’s not much I find bad about this protein bar. However, that doesn’t make it perfect for everyone else. There’s one con in particular that some people hold over the Quest Bar that has them choosing a different bar.

On The Pricier Side

You could say that money plays a role in every situation, and this one is no exception. Quest holds its products as high-quality, making their prices, especially on their bars, to go up.

Buying a single bar, for me at least, is out of the picture. Just one bar is a total of $4.99 for a single bar. If that isn’t outrageous, I’m not sure what is. Your best bet is to the value pack with 12 bars instead of only one.

The 12 pack price is $29.99 on Bodybuilding.com, which is where I occasionally get my bars if they’re not in store. With some calculations, each bar would come to be around $2.50 instead of almost 5 dollars.

My Experience With Quest Bar

This section is dedicated all to me, as selfish as that may sound. Using this bar for 3 years, heading for 4, is plenty of time to form an opinion on the snack. All I can say is, what an outstanding protein bar.

I already mentioned how much I love the taste of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, but it truly is something to crave over. However, some may call it an acquired taste due to the chunky and chewiness. You need to try it for yourself honestly, but I sure love it.

I first tried it when starting my Ketogenic Diet, and I achieved outstanding success. I’m not going to give all the credit to this little bar, but it still deserves some. The protein kept me full, and the carb count allowed it to fit in my diet.

If you’d like to see the success I achieved from trying Keto, I’ll leave a link here to an article that explains why you, the reader, should try Keto today.

Conclusion

In the conclusion of this Quest Protein Bar review, there are not too many things that Quest does wrong with their signature bar. The taste, the nutrition, and the quality are all there as it should be. Quest Nutrition wouldn’t be in the game this long if it wasn’t for the quality in their products. The price may be on the expensive side, but going for more bars will give you more bang for your buck.
